Joy

9 Apr

Seung Joo is as happy and joyous as we imagined.  Full of “po-po” (kisses) for us all. A million po-po’s!  Hugs, arms around the neck, fingers through the hair – LOVE!  She was not shy, (well, her caretakers said she was shy, but not like we imagined!)  She was giggly and led the boys around like she was the boss.  She knew Logan’s name very well and was working on Miles a bit.  That’s a tough one.  She called me Umma and Dave Appa from the beginning.  She did a lot of grunting and funny ah-ah’s instead of definite words, but her social worker told us that she is known for speaking in full sentences, but she was acting like a baby. (In a loving way!) and I’m all, “baby away!”  But after a couple of hours, she was repeating English words like no body’s business.  The boys loved that. 😉

She eats everything, loves meat, loves bright colors, loves to lead, sleeps all night, naps on occasion, leads at the orphanage, follows at preschool…SO MANY THINGS that I hope to never forget.  Writing down.

We got 1 box and 2 big bags from those who love her.  One of her caretakers make this HUGE cross stitch that is so very special.  Also, so many pictures, which is great!! Just so many things.  Hair things, the most beautiful clothes, stuffed animals, a new hanbok, a hand-made coat…so many things.

We played at her orphanage for 1 hr 45 minutes and then went to lunch together.  When we came back and she knew we had to leave, she cried and it about broke my heart because it was this sad cry, heartfelt cry, not loud and crazy, just sad.  We’re going to see her tomorrow, though, so that’s wonderful.

She’s solid, this girl! WOW! But she’s pretty small and it was so neat to see all of the kids together to show Miles that he is still the BIG and that Cora isn’t his size.

Here’s a bunch of pictures!
